Super Mario Brothers X - Level Contest Part 2
For those that haven't seen it, there is now an entire board on the forums devoted to this contest. Check it out and post your submissions there, ask for help, etc.
http://vinesaucevidya.com/vinetalk/index.php?board=11.0
The following is a copy/paste of what is in the post:
Here it is! The continuation of the Super Mario Bros. X level contest from back in November. We had a ton of great entries then, and I'm hoping for a similar response this time.
RULES:
- Download the FREE Super Mario Brothers X http://download.cnet.com/Super-Mario-Bros-X/3000-7433_4-10962266.html
- Use the level editor to make the best, most creative level you can. We're not going for extreme difficulty, make it challenging, but doable.
- The level can have any theme you choose, and can be fairly long; but try to make it look nice and try not to make it too long. The length of an average Mario Brothers 3 level is perfect.
- You can upload the level to http://www.mediafire.com/ and post your submission as a post in this forum. You can post it in incomplete form, but myself and whoever else judges the levels will not play them until they are 100% complete or the deadline is met.
- The levels will be judged by myself and other streamers ON STREAM! That's right, all seriously submitted levels will be played on stream for all to see!
PRIZES:
- First Place: Your choice of a $30 Steam game.
- Second Place: Your choice of a $20 Steam game.
- Third Place: Your choice of a $10 Steam game.
DUE DATE:
- Due date is Saturday, July 2nd, 2011.
LEVEL SETUP:
- You MUST divide your levels into one of two categories. Troll Levels or Campaign Levels.
- Troll Levels are exactly what they sound like. They can be funny, a bit trolly, or even more difficult, but still completable. Troll Levels, although fun, will be MUCH harder to win the contest with. No one likes getting trolled.
- Campaign Levels are levels that are reminiscent of old Mario levels. You can put your own unique twist on the classic level format, but make sure it's playable and not frustrating. Mario 3/World levels are closer to what I'm looking for here.
- When you make your forum post about your level, be sure to say what kind of level it is.
- You can create a world with multiple levels if you so choose, but keep the number of levels to a minimum. Anything over 3 and we'll be way less inclined to rate them, or even play them for that matter.
- Throwing a vinesauce meme or two in a level as a joke is perfectly acceptable. Also, NOT EVERY LEVEL NEEDS A BOSS!! Keep your levels classy.
If you need help, it's best to ask a veteran of the previous contest for help, or google whatever you might need to find. To everyone participating, use this forum to your advantage when creating your levels and be sure to help out a brother in need. Any questions? Ask here. Well, that's it, good luck and godspeed!

Minecraft Treasure Hunt Contest
New contest! This time it's interactive. Basically, I've hidden 12 signs around Vineshire and it's surrounding provinces. Each of these signs have a unique contest code attached to them. The person to find the most signs wins! Here are the rules:
- You must connect to our Vinesauce Minecraft Server and look for contest sings. If you don't have access, ask to be white-listed. Here's the thread to do so.
- Some signs are well hidden, others are a bit more obvious. You will NEVER have to destroy someone's house or creations to find a sign.
- First Place Prize: $20 Steam Game of your choice.
Second Place Prize: $10 Steam Game of your choice.
Third Place Prize: $10 Steam Game of your choice.
- You MUST PM the codes to me using the forum. My user name is Vinesauce. I accept Forum Private Messages only.
- Contest ends Tuesday at 5:00PM EST. I will NOT accept any entries beyond that time. Basically, this means you have 48 hours from when this was posted.
- The signs will say "CONTEST CODE:", so you'll know one when you see one. Following that is a unique combination of letters and numbers.
- Once you write the codes down, you may choose to destroy the sign if you want.
So that's it! Everyone get to hunting and good luck to all!

Tame's Greentext Challenge
Hey everyone, time for another contest! You know how in chat, we see plenty of greentext? Especially from a certain person named Tame? Well, that's all about to end with a new contest!
Starting on March 12th and ending on March 24th, Tame is swearing off of greentext. If you think the implications implied here are impossible, then challenge him.
The first person to post an actual Chatango screenshot from Tame using green text (>Implying >Using Greentext or saying MFW, etc) will either win a $10 Steam game or the ability to force Tame to stream whatever game you want. The second and third place winners will either win a $5 Steam game or the ability to force Tame to stream a game of your choice for an hour. Post your screenshot here and contact Tame to win your prize. Remember, the screenshot must be timestamped between the 12th and the 24th.

SPELUNKY CUSTOM LEVEL COMPETITION
What you need:
http://www.derekyu.com/games/spelunky_1_1.zip
http://mossmouth.com/forums/index.php?topic=631.0
Rules and such:
1. Must be created using Spelunky Editor Plus, downloaded in the second link up there.
2. You can program what level an exit of one goes to). Number of level files in an entry does not matter, but they must be connected so as to be a single unit. In other words, you could make a single level, or a full game, but you still only get one entry.
3. Custom music CAN BE USED, you just need to insert the music as an .ogg file into the "sound" folder and then specify the file name when editing the level's info. Make sure any extra sound files are included with your entry.
Entries are due Saturday, March 5th. I will stream hopefully all of the levels the following day, and a winner will be announced then. Entries should be uploaded to some file hosting site and posted as a comment in this blog. Winner gets a $10 Steam game.
Any questions about how to use the level editor, contest details, or Jewish culture should be directed to KY, or http://livebyfoma.chatango.com. Happy spelunking!

20 Million Get + A Special Visitor
As you guys may know, we hit a pretty impressive milestone this past weekend. 20,000,000 viewer minutes. This is especially impressive given we've only been around for 9 months or so. If Vinesauce Vidya were a person, he'd now be about 38 years old. His first wife would have just left him, his first kid would be hitting puberty and his first colonoscopy would be scheduled. Congratulations guys, you helped a website achieve a virtual mid-life crisis!
I have a few special things planned for the 20 million get. First, a video which will be posted here when it's completed. Let's just say it involves pudding and piercing the heavens.
Perhaps the best surprise anyone could have hoped for will be happening soon. Vineswim bumps from Mr. Plinkett himself will soon appear on the autopilot. Who's Mr. Plinkett? Some would say he's the Orson Wells of movie reviews. Others would say he's a wheelchair bound sexual predator from New Jersey. Both of these things are surprisingly true.
Most of you know the Star Wars reviews, but if you don't, go check them out! Plinkett is doing us a huge favor by recording some audio for us, so bookmarking his webzone is a small way of saying thanks. Also, check out the Great Plinkett Auction. These crazy bastards are actually auctioning props from the Star Wars reviews and other Plinkett movies. Be sure to include a pizza roll or two with any bids you make. He likes pizza rolls.

Oglopox
This isn't a contest, but drawing an Oglopox can win you e-fame.
Basically, draw what you think the mythical Oglopox would look like, based on its name alone. The best versions will be added to a Vineswim video and kept in autopilot rotation. The very best Oglopox creator can even choose the music to be added to the video. Post all submissions here!
